Buying a Car with No Credit: Advancial Credit Union vs. International Auto Source

Buying a Car with No Credit: Advancial Credit Union vs. International Auto Source

Credit is an important factor when purchasing items that require loans and payments over time - cars, homes, credit cards, etc. As a new U.S. resident, you are starting without any credit, and building strong credit - by paying your bills on time, for instance - will take time.

Because you do not yet have credit, we have partnered with two organizations that assist our nurses with the car-buying process, and each has its own benefits.

Advancial Credit Union

Advancial is a credit unionLinks to an external site. that works specifically with individuals who are coming to the US without credit and provides reasonable interest rates for car loans. Reasonable interest rates can be hard to find when you have yet to build credit, so our nurses find Advancial as a great long-term option.

Advancial is a credit union, so it can serve as a one-stop shop for our nurses. You can open savings and checking accounts, receive credit cards, and if you decide to purchase a home at some point in the future, a home loan.

Get started with Advancial by contacting their branch in Katy, Taxes. When you do, let them know you are an Interstaff nurse.

International Auto Source

International Auto Source also works specifically with individuals who are new to the US and do not have credit. A great benefit of working with International Auto Source is that while you wait for your new car to arrive, they will provide you with a complimentary rental car, so you can get on the road immediately.

Things to Consider

As you reach out to these organizations, there are a few things to consider:
  • What are the interest rates that each offer?
  • How quickly do I need a car? Can I use public transportation for a few weeks as I wait for a car to arrive?
  • Do I want to work with a credit union (read more about how a credit union differs from a bank) or obtain a credit card at some point soon?
