Finding Providers:

Provider Directory
Once you are enrolled in health, vision, and dental, you will be able to create an online login. Visit the Allied Website for health insurance and the UNUM website for vision and dental. After you create a login, navigate to "provider directory". Enter your zip code, speciality, and preferences, and a list of providers will be shown. The list shows in-network providers, meaning it will be the cheapest care available under your plan.

In-network vs. Out-of-network
Aetna has a large provider network. Finding in-network providers will be relatively easy. If you find a doctor or hospital out of network, your coverage will change. You may be asked to pay additional premiums and percentages. Click here to find in-network providers.

Seeking Care
The price of care is dependent on your plan, tests performed, and where you go for care. It's important to use primary care physicians first, prior to using urgent care or emergency medical services. Once you find an in-network provider that meets your needs, call the office to set up an appointment and provide insurance information.
  • Primary care physicians (PCPs) are independent doctor's offices or medical groups that are open during normal business hours (9am-5pm). Some doctor's offices have early/late appointment availability. PCPs can treat common sickness, allergies, minor injuries, order testing, and provide vaccinations. This will be the cheapest option.
  • Specialists are doctor's who specialize in different medical treatments (orthopedics, dermatology, etc.).
  • Urgent cares are available for urgent medical matters that don't require an emergency room visit. Urgent cares are open early mornings and late nights, outside of regular PCP hours. Urgent cares can be used for sprains/strains, stitches/sutures, fevers, illness, and other urgent medical matters. This will be the middle ground option in regards to expense.
  • The emergency room (ER) is used for medical emergencies that require immediate, fast attention. This can include catastrophic injuries, car accidents, high fevers, and any other instance you deem life or death. ERs operate 24/7/365. This will be the most expensive option
