Reproductive health doctors are available in all 50 states. Obstetrics and gynecology (ob/gyn) treats women and urology treats men. It's important to see reproductive health doctors yearly for check-ups, cancer screening, infection testing, among other things. Both doctors can also provide contraceptives and family planning options.
If you need medical attention, the following options are available:
If you opted for health insurance through Interstaff, you may use the UMR "find a provider" tool or call them at 1-800-826-9781.
The addition of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) allowed for greater access to birth control for women. If you are interested in taking contraceptives, please contact your primary physician or OBGYN for options available at a discounted rate or no cost.
If you were to become pregnant during your contract, you will be eligible to take paid and/or unpaid time off for maternity leave. If you have PTO hours available, they will be applied to any missed shifts. Once your PTO runs out, you will be on unpaid time off. During unpaid time off, you will not receive any paycheck. In addition, you will be responsible for paying any insurance premiums that are deducted from your weekly check.
The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) will provide job protection for maternity leave. For more information on FMLA, please click here.
