Goal Setting Plan

Goal Setting Plan

Goal Setting Outline

Objective: You will create personal and professional goals, using the SMART model. One personal and professional goal will be made for each timestamp. The Wellness Manager will walk you through goal setting within 2 weeks post-deployment, prior to the start of work. If you need to change goals after the 4 month mark, please email shannon.violetti@interstaffinc.com to schedule a meeting.

Model

Specific - What do you want to achieve?

Measurable- How will you track your progress?

Attainable- Is this possible/realistic to achieve? If not, how can we make it adaptable?

Relevant- Is it specific to your own growth and success?

Time-bound- When do you want to achieve this?

Definitions

  1. Personal Goal: Something you want to achieve that relates to you, your lifestyle, or family.
    1. Example:  I will buy a car within 4 months post-deployment. I will switch to night shifts by year 1. I will know how to drive within 1 year of deployment.
  2. Professional Goal: Objectives or items you want to achieve in your career.
    1. Example: I will learn relevant generic names of medicines by 1 year of working. I will enroll in a BSN program within 2 years of deployment. I will be in a leadership role after Interstaff.
  3. Family Goal (if applicable): Something you want members of your household to achieve.
    1. Example: My children will be involved in an afterschool program within 6 months. My spouse will have a job within 1 year of deployment.

Time-bound

  1. 5 month
  2. 1 year
  3. 2 year
  4. 3 year
  5. 1-3 years post Interstaff
  6. Lifetime

Keep in Mind

You may not reach every goal- and that’s ok! Be sure to give it your all, but don’t lose hope. If your goal was to buy a car in the first 4 months post deployment, but you haven’t worked in the last three, you don’t have the financial resources to buy one. Take the time to learn money saving techniques and strategies so that you can move that goal to the 1 year mark.
